The City of Denver is seeking a Criminalist for a nightshift position.

The Denver Crime Laboratory actively works to aid the Denver Police Department in solving crime. The Forensics and Evidence Division employs a variety of highly trained personnel to assist in the investigation of criminal acts and make Denver a safer place to live.

The Denver Police Crime Scene Unit investigates criminal cases ranging from property crimes to crimes against persons within the City and County of Denver. Each year the unit responds to over four thousand crime scenes.

Position Salary Range: $29.56 - $45.82

2025 Board Member Elections

To All Members of the International Crime Scene Investigators Association (ICSIA), In accordance with the ICSIA By-Laws, elections for the Board of Directors will be held on August 15, 2025.

Any member in good standing is eligible to submit their name or nominate another qualified candidate for consideration. Nominations must be submitted to the ICSIA Nomination Committee no later than August 15, 2025.

All nominations must include a Professional Biography of the candidate. This biography will be shared with the membership prior to the election to assist in the evaluation and selection process.

Board of Directors – Role and Expectations

Members of the ICSIA Board of Directors play a critical role in supporting the President in defining, maintaining, and advancing the Association’s vision and strategic direction. Board members are expected to take an active part in furthering the mission of ICSIA by:

● Participating in committee work

● Assisting with day-to-day operational responsibilities

● Contributing ideas and leadership that foster the growth and improvement of the Association

Board members are elected to serve a four-year term. Candidates must be prepared to fully commit to the term and the responsibilities it entails. Meetings are typically held monthly via conference or video call, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary.

Board Changes & Upcoming Training

Hey everyone. First up on the news list are changes to the Board of Directors. Christopher Hill has stepped up and is now President of the Association. Daryl Clemens has moved to a role as Treasurer/Tech Support. Monica Yourgal has taken the Secretary position. Nakia Porter continues as Membership Coordinator, but is also looking at venues for a conference next spring. Gregory Bailey has taken on restarting the Certification process. That project will likely take some time. We'll let you know when it's up and running again. John Paolucci continues as Newsletter/Training Coordinator.

On the training front, our last webinar was a success and the video should be posted shortly. We are looking at doing another one in September- if you'd like to suggest a topic, email me or post it in the forum thread(https://icsia.org/Member-forum/13335088).

John and I will also be doing an in-person Shooting Scene Investigation class in Kent County/Grand Rapids Michigan in October. It's super affordable and there are still slots left. I am pleased to announce that all three candidates have been elected, so please join me in welcoming Gregory Bailey, Susan Moll and Monica Yourgal to the ICSIA Board of Directors. I'll be working on getting them all set up in the next few days, and ready for the board meeting in a couple of weeks.

In other news, we have another webinar coming up at the end of the month. John Paolucci will be presenting on the expansion of hollow point projectiles after passing through various barriers. Look for an event post on the site shortly.

ICSIA is in need of candidates for the Board of Directors. As a member run organization, all the work required to keep us operating is done by member volunteers- we have no paid staff.

We need people to provide direction to the organization, and more importantly to do the actual work that keeps us operating. This includes maintaining the website, planning for training classes and conferences and answering requests from both members and the public.
